Car Free Day 2002 in Tower Hamlets

Good times were had at Car Free Day. We certainly didn't have to turn anyone away because of full 'bicycle buses' ;-) but we had plenty join us to make it worthwhile. We all met up with the rickshaw crowd at the Green Bridge before heading off to Tower Bridge. Everyone knew we were coming as our Newham neighbours that joined us had a great sound system on the back of a trailer accompanying the 'bus'. ('Bicycle bus' photos and movie.)

Tower Bridge was packed. The stalls seemed loads better than last year and there was some great live music being played. The wind and the occasional shower kept us on our toes but none of it stopped us handing out loads of the new postcard and newsletters.
