St Barnabas Community Fete
12-7pm at Wennington Green (Grove Rd/Roman Rd junction) www.bowstock.org
We will be there with our info stall and Dr Bike stand.

Sunday, 5th September
Easy RIDE: London Skyride
Feeder rides escorting you to and from the London Skyride. Once there enjoy a motor traffic free ride around central London. St James's Park is a good place to stop for a picnic.
Meet at 10.30am or 12.00pm underneath the Green Bridge, Mile End Road (south side) [map].
The return ride will is from Tower Hill at 3.30pm.

Monthly Wheelers Meeting - Special Campaigning Event
Note earlier start time - meet at 7.00pm prompt at St Margarets House, 21 Old Ford Road [map].
7.00-7.30 Quick monthly meeting
7.30-8.15 Cycling Rangers briefing session - all welcome, read about the project
8.15-9.00 Campaigning & Planning session with Richard Lewis, Transport Planning Consultant from Hackney Cyclists.
Followed by a visit to a local pub from 9.15pm.

Thursday, 9th September
Easy RIDE: Ace Cafe
A Wheelers favourite - easy 12 mile ride to the Ace Cafe, Stonebridge Park - the popular haunt of motorcycle enthusiasts. Good and reasonably priced food awaits you at the destination.
Meet ready to leave promptly at 6.15pm on top of the Green Bridge, Mile End Park [map] or 6.45pm outside Madame Tussaud's, Marylebone Road.
Other pickup points on the way: 6:30pm canal at the Overdraught pub on the corner of Haggerston Rd & Dunston Rd; 7:45pm canal at Sainsburys Kensal Green.
Ride or train or tube or some combination of any of those to get back. Don't forget your lights.

Saturday, 11th September
Hard RIDE: Mile End to Cambridge
About 65 miles, leaving London on main roads as far as Epping Forest and then via minor and B roads. Lots of undulating countryside including the highest points in Essex and Cambridgeshire, also a stripey cycle path! Cafe lunch after about 30 miles. Return by train (between £7 & £16).
Medium pace but not many refreshment points, suggest you bring snack and a drink for the afternoon. Possible to drop out at Bishops Stortford/Audley End. All on road/surfaced path - suitable for any bike. Pick up along the route Victoria Park/Hackney/Lea Bridge Road possible or meet at High Beach Epping Forest at 09.15 - please contact ride leader in advance for these options.

Easy RIDE: Open House Tour
Open House - a chance to visit some of London's outstanding architecture, including places not normally open to the public. Numbers will be limited on this to ensure we don't spend too much time queuing. An easy ride but some busy roads.

Moderate RIDE: Darenth Valley and Kent Lanes
Using the Waterlink Way to escape from London. Similar to but not exactly the same as rides we did last year to Kent - I'm sure we can find some new hills for you.
