Saturday, 20th January
RIDE: Lea Valley Ride
Cycle up Lea Valley, along towpaths, to Waltham Abbey, where we'll have our tea stop. After tea, depending on who's there/how we're feeling, we can either:
a) cycle back the way we came along the towpath to Mile End;
b) climb up to High Beach in Epping Forest, then come back along the towpath;
c) carry on along undulating roads through pretty Essex villages of Bumble's Green, Broadley Common, Epping Green and Epping Upland, returning on road.
The first two options should by any objective standards count as "easy" rides, though I did b) on New Year's Day and, after a month off the bike and on the mince pies, it felt at least "medium" to me! Whichever option we take no-one gets left behind and we'll all be back for lunch.
Depart at 9.30am on top of the Green Bridge, Mile End Park [map].
Any questions contact Matt call/text 07903 136128.
