Bicycle Puncture Repair Class For East End Pedallers
Have you got out on your bike in the recent sunny weather? But will you be
able to fix a puncture if you get a flat tyre? Local cycling group the Tower
Hamlets Wheelers are holding a puncture repair class at their next bicycle
maintenance workshop, Saturday 26 July, from 11:30am to 12:30pm with
refreshments and a chance to socialise afterwards. The session will cover:
removing the wheel, replacing the inner tube, finding and mending a
puncture, preventing future punctures, plus other hints and tips. The class
costs just £4.50 per person (kids £3.00) and includes refreshments and a
puncture repair instruction card to take with you. (Bike shops charge over
£6.50 for puncture fixing.)
Places are limited and the first five people to book receive a free puncture
repair kit. To book your place (you pay on the day) call Alix 020 8880 6873
or email alix@towerhamletswheelers.org.uk with any dietary requirements.
The class is at the old Limehouse Town Hall, 646 Commercial Road, E14 (by
Newell Street and opposite Salmon Lane).
The class occurs at the same time as the monthly Wheelers Workshop, held in
conjunction with the Boxing Club (an arts group). This is a self-help
bicycle maintenance workshop where you can fix your bike with help from
experienced local cyclists. From 11am members of the public will still be
able to use the workshop for self-help repair, and also while this puncture
repair class is on, and afterwards until 3pm. The workshop is free but a
cash donation of £1 or £2 per user is very welcome.
