- Photos available -

Local cycling group the Tower Hamlets Wheelers were out in force on Sunday, July 18th, with a stall and obstacle course at the Spitalfields Community Festival, and fixing broken bikes at the London Bikeathon.

Two Wheelers, Gary Cummins and Steve Collins fixed a total of 30 bikes at the Bikeathon, allowing riders to finish the 26 mile course in aid of the Leukaemia Research Fund. The route started in Chelsea and headed east to loop round the Isle of Dogs before heading back west passing through King Edward Memorial Park, Shadwell where the Wheelers were stationed.

Meanwhile, other members of the group were at the Spitalfields Festival & Eco Fun Fair offering help and advice to people interested in taking up cycling, fixing and tuning up bicycles, and with an bicycle obstacle course for local kids.

Wheelers Coordinator, Owen Pearson says: "The Spitalfields Community Festival is a great local event and our stand was busy throughout the day giving people advice on cycling. The kids loved our obstacle course and were constantly queuing up for a turn."
