Monthly Meeting Minutes

1. Finances
- LBTH £250 for Bike Fest received.
- St Katharine's Trust (Community Chest funding for Bike Buddy Scheme), Dave A (DA) sent letter detailing progress and how we haven't managed to spend all the money. Wapping Women's Centre, 6 women keen on training. DAs letter suggests we could spend some of remaining money on them : [*] Rob following up.
- LCC grant for last 2 years still not received: [*] DA chasing central LCC but not getting any response - will continue to chase.
- DA responded to LCC auditors as requested.
- Applied for £50 from LCC to go towards Bike Week budget.
2. Bike Buddy Scheme
- Scheme put on hold while money available reviewed.
- No funding available from LBTH as they are now funding weekly group sessions.
3. Workshop
- Next one: 26 July
- Keith to hold master class on hub gears, hub brakes, ISIS-type bottom brackets at 10.30.
4. Events
- Trees for Cities, 12 July: all in order, volunteer list sorted but hoping to get a couple more.
- Bikeathon, 13 July: all in order, volunteer list sorted.
- Arnold Circus, 20 July: Gerry and Keith liasing and organising our involvement.
- London-Southend, 20 July, LBTH asked if Dr Bike available at start: Keith maybe, will reply to Sam Margolis
- Tour de Hackney, 17 August: Notification of event. Might get involved helping out as required. [*] Owen to contact Trevor in Hackney.
- Freewheel, 21 September: Notification of event date and that marshalls are being sought. Waiting to hear of LCC's involvement this year.
- LCC 30th anniversary: David T wondered is a party/event still to be planned???
- ODA Greenway proposals, 15 July - Gerry announced there was to be a ride round the site.
5. Egroup
- posting etiquette, update policy: [*] Owen and Rob to refine current policy.
- discussion branched off to general standards for committee members to uphold when communicating on behalf of Wheelers. Must identify when speaking in personal capacity especially on egroup.
6. Strategy Meeting
- long standing plan for a strategy meeting discussed. Decided to set a date in the autumn to focus our thoughts on arranging it. Date set for Sat, 1 November. Further details to be decided on at subsequent meetings.
7. Stepney Way
- LBTH plan to formalise cycle route along Stepney Way.
- 11 July deadline: [*] David T to draw up response, circulate and Owen to submit to LBTH.
8. Ocean Estate
- David T gave overview of Ocean Estate project where potential cycle routes are currently being discussed as part of scheme to improve overall cycling on the estate: [*] David T to draw up initial response
9. Newsletter
- deadline of articles to Rob by end of this week. Article list discussed: [*] Rob to compile and edit.
10. Canal Issues
- Two Tings event at Mile Eld Lock on 11 July 7.30-9.30am
- [*] Gerry to summarise egroup discussions on canal and publish
- Gerry spoke to BWB patrol chap and will follow up discussions
