Monthly Meeting Minutes

Held at St Margaret's House, 21 Old Ford Road.

- Bike Week: Mile End Park do and Anchorage House Dr Bike - thanks for our help.
- Sun, 7 September: Bike Jam at Tower Hill organised by TfL coinciding with Tour of Britain.
[*] Keith will attend and contact LCC if they are having a stall.
- Mon, 22 September: "Give Your Car the Day Off". Saunders Ness Road to be closed. George Green School main focus.
Working with Bikeworks to provide ride leaders.
[*] Owen to attend and provide Dr Bike, stall. Others maybe.
Dr Bike before 22nd, mid-Sept evening. Sam to come back with date options.

- Ocean Estate: feedback gratefully received. Working with planners on GIS map with ideal route alignments.
- Preparing bid for funding from TfL for involving ethnic women in cycling as part of Ocean Estate project.

Rob asked about possiblity of HGV awareness event as has happened in other boroughs.

July's extremely busy.

3. Events
- Thu 14 Sep, DLR Shadwell cycle storage opening [*] Keith to antagonise DLR reps about cycle carriage policy
- Sat 6 Sep, St Barnabas [*] volunteers to be confirmed
- Sun 14 Sep, Spitalfields Green Fair [*] Owen to put a call out for volunteers
- Sun 21 Sep, Freewheel: Green Bridge -> Victoria Park hub + lead ride back. LCC stall volunteers required? Awaiting further details from LCC.
4. Olympics Development Authority
Keith attended meeting with architects and other interested parties about proposals and plans for Greenway pre and post-Olympics.
- Upgrade route from West Ham station (also vicinity of coach & cycle parking) north to railway in the Olympic Park.
- Proposal to segregate walking and cycling on path - physical segeration via kerb opposed by cycling groups.
Legacy - how does Greenway link up with Victoria Park and all other canal routes?
[*] Keith happy to continue his involvement in this process.
Olympics High Street - Chris (Tower Hamlets Primary Care Trust) overviews Aldgate to Olympic Park route. Consultations going on. Health and well-being issue being raised by PCT.
[*] Owen to dig out A11 CRISP report for Chris.
5. Green Route CRISP
Tower Bridge -> Limehouse route: Caroline and Ralph attended the CRIM last Friday.
6. PCT
Chris (Tower Hamlets Primary Care Trust) involved in creating projects to increase active lifestyles in the Public Health department. Large amounts of money available for funding.
Chris proposes a PCT/LBTH consulation event to find out "barriers against cycling".
Also willing to run a "Pinpoint" session for Wheelers to help find potential issues/projects to focus on.
7. Next Meeting
Next month's meeting to start at 7.00 and finish at 8.20 so we can then attend Aneeta's book signing :-).
Meeting closed at an over-running 9.30pm.
