1. Workshop

Next one on 18 February.

March's clashes with next Tour du Danger ride on 17 March - move to Sunday?

ACTION: Owen to find out if town hall available for 18 March.



2. "Go Dutch" LCC campaign

First Go Dutch petitions filled in in Tower Hamlets at "Exchanging Places" lorry awareness event this morning at Victoria Park.  

ACTION: Owen to link to LCC's Go Dutch page on THW website.



3. Bow Roundabout

THW, LCC reps, local elected members met with Ken Livingstone at Bow Roundabout as part of his tour of boroughs. Discussion forum held later on pedestrian and cycling issues. Gerry's full write up at wheelers.org.uk/news/ken-livingstone-visits-bow-roundabout.

Lots of good networking took place with councillors, community groups etc.



4. Cycle Hire Scheme Workshop

Introduction to scheme being held on 16 February.  No one from committee able to go.

ACTION: Owen to forward to main egroup.



5. AGM

Set for Wendesday, 11 April.  Decide to hold a "Go Dutch" forum evening.

ACTION: Owen to prepare invitee list



6. Rides

Caroline organising those that have volunteered to help out with ride marshalling.  Also subscribed to OS maps for route planning.

Breakfast rides: Richard starting these up again very shortly.

"Hell of the East" - Alex will finally organised this east end cobbled ride on Sunday, 8th April. 

ACTION: Owen to find out if town hall available for post-Hell of the East ride social.



7. Events

Friends of Arnold Circus are holding their annual picnic on 8 July (this year to be called the Olympicnic).  They would once again like to run the 100 lap ride.  Our usual involvement has been a Dr Bike on the Saturday and then organisation of ride on the Sunday.  Keith will be away that weekend but is happy to organise.  Need to be able to commit volunteers for the day to be able to say we can join in.

Concensus that we should go for it with several saying they would be interested to help out.

ACTION: Keith to get back to FoAC to confirm our participation. Will lead with organising.

*** Call out for all to keep a lookout for other events we could join in with during the year.



8. Twittering

Twitter account setup and linked up to Facebook.  Rob and Owen can post to it.  Plans for the publication of news articles on website to be linked to twitter as well.



9. Exchanging Places event

Gerry reported on this morning's event organised by LBTH and LB Hackney at Bonner Gate, Victoria Park.  Bob, Richard and herself joined Charlie from LCC and other council officers.  Go Dutch petition signing and networking.  Good location for events with high throughput of cyclists.



10. Junction Review

TfL have launched a review of cycle safety at junctions.

Plan of action required about how THW feed into the consultations in conjuction with LCC.



11. AOB

Alex raises The Times Safe Cycling campaign and proposes we join up as a group.  Being based in Wapping we should contact them as the local cycling group and Movers & Shakers.

ACTION: Rob and Alex to co-ordinate an approach.

Friday, 10 February memorial ride taking place for courier who recently died in the City.  LFGSS organinsing, LCC supporting.  Meet at The Foundary at 6pm.
