ACTIONS:

Website:
ACTIONS:
• Owen still to what he said he would do in previous meetings.

4. Rides & Socials

22 October ride cancelled. Full details of the upcoming rides in the Rides/Events section on the website.
Keith wondered about meeting underneath the Green Bridge (instead of on top) for the winter rides to get some shelter if weather conditions aren't that great.
ACTIONS:
• Note to arrange New Year's social event at November meeting.

5. Finances

ACTIONS:
• Dave & Owen to sort out new bank account signatory.

6. Workshop & Bike Re-Cycling

Workshop:
September's workshop was again well attended with Keith giving expert puncture repair tuition.
Gary Cummins has indicated he would be happy to run a dynamo fitting class at one of the workshops.
Keith asked for approval to buy the Park Tools workstand. Will get a discount from Bicycle Magic the total being approx. £250. All agreed to go ahead and order it.
Next workshop on 25 October.
ACTIONS:
• Gary to choose a month to hold dynamo class.
• Keith to put down deposit and order workstand.

Bike Re-Cycling:
Dave reported that two bikes had now been sold to bike buddy scheme participants. Keith has a couple more bikes that can be made available.
ACTIONS:
• Owen to try selling donated racing bikes on eBay.

7. Bike Buddy & Cycle Training Scheme

Dave reported that so far we have 24 who have contacted us about the scheme. 13 of those have filled in the introductory questionnaire therefore becoming full members of the scheme. Several of those have now booked their training with either Cycle Training or the London School of Cycling.

Despite it perhaps not being the best time of year it was decided it would be best to aim for more publicity for the scheme. Agreed to produce an A4 poster and flyer to distribute far and wide. Keith suggested holding a 'stall' at Brick Lane one Sunday. Agreed to organise this for 2 November.

ACTIONS:
• Owen & Steve B to produce flyer.
• Steve B & Steve C to come up with an idea or two for the poster.
• Keith et al to organise 2 November stall.

8. Borough Traffic Schemes

LCN+:
Owen showed the latest plans for the London Cycle Network+ in Tower Hamlets over the next 3-4 years. All the proposed routes seem sensible, improving and upgrading existing routes as well as creating new specific routes e.g. Cambridge Heath Road. Will need to ensure we are consulted when it comes to producing the detailed plans.

Cable Street:
It's time to raise the priority scheme issue again and put pressure on the authorities to make this route into a cycle facility for cyclists as was originally intended.
ACTIONS:
• Owen to get the ball rolling again by drafting a reply to the council's 'report' produced earlier in the year.

Bow Flyover:
Owen attended a meeting with architects who are producing schemes for the reclaiming of space for residents of the area surrounding Bow Church. Their ideas have lead them to consider a shared use pedestrian/cycle path going over the Bow Flyover (A11/A12 intersection).
ACTIONS:
• Owen to send email to THW and Newham egroups describing the architects ideas.

9. AOB

• To encourage more cross-LCC borough group liaison, Owen is encouraging anyone who regularly cycles in neighbouring boroughs to consider joining their respective LCC email groups. Owen can provide this information if required.
• Keith mentioned he would be attending Hackney's cycle maintenance workshop on Thursday, to be sociable and to see how they do things.
• Keith suggested we get Wheelers business cards made. All agreed. ACTION: Owen to do a quick design.
• Keith has put forward the idea of a bicycle maintenance workshop to be included in community centre plans on the Bancroft estate.
• The Cycling for Women Project run by Alix Stredwick was briefly discussed.

The meeting closed at 8.45pm and most headed off to The Half Moon, Mile End Road where they were joined by a couple of others.

Next meeting: 7.00pm, 12 November, venue tba.
