5. LCC Community Projects
Lucy Davis, LCC's Community Projects Officer since January this year spoke about her role. Her post is part-time and has funding for two years. She aims to secure funding for projects that will introduce cycling to community groups, specifically targeting ethnic minorities, the disadvantaged, refugees.
Within Tower Hamlets she is currently in contact with the Jagonari Centre, Whitechapel Road about them joining the Wheelers Bike Buddy scheme. She will liaise with them and Cycle Training and arrange a date for a training session.
With regard to bike storage she suggested we might like to contact the Crisis Centre who are based on Commercial Street. They are running a bike maintenance project and have lots of space.
ACTIONS:
Owen to pass on details to Lucy of community groups mentioned in the Bike Buddy project funding applications.
