Publicity relaunch took place 24 May. The press release gained us coverage in Cycling Weekly. Keith sent all health centres/GPs and colleges info on scheme. Staff from a Whitechapel NHS Centre enquired about joining up. Aberfeldy GP wants more posters and postcards. Generally email enquiries are increasing.

5. Workshop & Bike Re-Cycling
Workshop:
Five new faces came along to May's workshop. The next workshop is on 26 June 2004.
Bike Re-Cycling:
Caroline and Dave have 2 more donated bikes.
Lea Rivers Trust have offered bikes they have recovered from the river/canal. Owen to see if any of them are suitable.
6. Borough Traffic Schemes
Owen had a phone conversation with Ashraf Ali, LBTH cycling officer. LCN+ money is to be spent on amending junction of Cable Street/Cannon Street Road to take account of the two-way cycle track now being continuous across this junction. Also the track and path on the east corner of the Cannon Street Road junction will be widened.
The next extension eastwards to the two-way track is planned between Watney Street and Sutton Street. Work is scheduled to start end of July.
Ashraf informed Owen that there are plans to designate Raven Row/Adelina Grove/Redman's Road to Stepney Green as a cycle route.
Valance Road/Hanbury Street new cycle facilities: These are of poor design and will not encourage cycle use, they will probably be ignored by most regular cyclists. Wheelers where not consulted on this scheme nor apparently Ashraf Ali despite it being on a signposted cycle route. Owen awaits to hear more form LBTH.

June's issue of LBTH's good going travel awareness newsletter is all about cycling and in particular letting all know about the Wheelers.
