Evening Lea Valley Ride

We enjoyed another very pleasant summer evening's ride. Five met up on the Green Bridge including one first-timer. Setting off we headed north up Regent's Canal, Hertford Union Canal and the Lea Navigation as far as Springfield Park. (Get Cycle Guide No. 5 for this part of the route, Guide No. 10 covers the rest.) Then crossed over and came down south along the River Lea getting back onto the Lea Navigation at Hackney Wick. Onwards down to Three Mills and all the way to Limehouse Basin via Limehouse Cut. About a two hour ride with no more than 10 minutes of it on a road - very relaxing, with just some concentration needed along some of the bumpier stretches of towpath.
