Having failed to complete an End-To-End last August (2004), I am now embarking on another long-distance tour. Realised as I started to use an old file as template that I had noticed computer on Trek bike that I was going to use, in preference to the Claud Butler tourer, is set to metric so will record everything in K as I cant be bothered to reset to imperial. I also had some kit to purchase so went in to see Terry, my old friend and manager of Action Bikes at Victoria. I met him at an unexpected point when I was filling in a paying-in slip at Lloyds and another customer jogged my elbow, it was Terry.

Bought Ortlieb panniers and bar bag in a very bright shade of red and also had to get an extension piece in order to raise the front light above the bar bag. As I write this I realise that I forgot to swap the lights over as I am carrying the front light that has no lens, this was broken in my crash last August. I hung around in the shop and ended up buying a new pair of shorts. Terry as usual spotted something wrong on my bike and got the mechanic to adjust the front brake, which was catching the wheel. As a result of the adjustment the bike is running really well. Finally I wanted to purchase another tube but Terry donated that to me along with some self-adhesive patches. Am well equipped and ready to go.
