Stolen Bikes Descriptions

March 2005: Brick Lane Police Station is running an initiative to reunite stolen bikes they have seized from Brick Lane Market with their owners - full details »

DON'T FUEL BIKE THEFT BY BUYING A STOLEN BICYCLE!
In Tower Hamlets that mainly means avoiding the area around Brick Lane Market. Those being sold on the street will have been stolen. Even some of the sellers with stalls are handling stolen bikes. Read about our campaign »

This page lists bikes that have been stolen from Wheelers members and/or Tower Hamlets residents. If you come across any of these bikes the owners would be most grateful if you would contact them.

The page also serves as a memorial for the owners where they can come and fondly remember their trusty bicycles.

Send us an if you would like your stolen bike to be listed.

Tips and advice about how to secure your bike are available on the London Cycling Campaign's Cycle Security pages. Always keep a record of your frame number - download our Bike Details Record Card [pdf] print it out and fill it in now!

Trek 4300 Rigid silver-blue with mix-hybrid wheels. The bike was brand new, immaculate. Has two exension handlerbar stems (black, I had to cut the handlebar cover to adapt it) and front-rear mud guards. It has a tiny dent on the superior-front aspect of the frame. It has infrared speed counter bracket on the handlebar.
My pretty, cute bike was locked to a rack with very strong locks (locking the front and back wheels and the frame). Everything was gone, no sign of any debris or even the locks! And my only way of commuting across London. I am still paying for it! It got stolen in front of the Waterstones, Torrington Place at around 7-9pm. I am devastated. I am a student and unemployed, so this means a lot of trouble to me. I do not have much money but would pay some reward if found. [photo]

July 2003
Gary Fisher Hoo Koo E Koo MTB: Lime Green (1995/6). I've never seen another model like this in the UK as I don't think they were ever imported. White XC Rock Shox forks. Shimano XT Derallieur and new rear chain set/cogs. Aluminium bars with grip shift gear levers. Sugino crank shaft. New Continental Slick tyres. Disinguishing marks include a yellow sticker halfway down the frame stem with a Japanese symbol and a few small Chinese characters (I bought the bike in Japan). The headset has a motif on it reading "All Work And No Play Is No Good At All". For the record, I'd like to crucify whoever stole my prized possession.

Ammaco Cruiser: Maroon/Silver. An identifying feature is the seat post clamp has been replaced & sprayed a non-matching colour (bright red, not maroon like the rest of the bike).
Ridgeback Adventure has an adjustable kick stand and the bottle holder still has price sticker!
