Open House ride

Saturday, 22 September 2012 - 9:00am - 5:00pm

This Open House ride will start off a bit rubbish but could leave you starry-eyed and dancing by the end.

We'll visit about 6-8 properties (depending on the length of the queues), and the eclectic selection will take in London's most modern waste recycling plant, a hidden gem of a cinema museum, a Grand Design, a Victorian school transformed into a soaring modern dance space, as well as quirky conversions and unusual homes. The route goes through Bermondsey, Peckham, Camberwell and Elephant & Castle, mostly on quiet back roads, though a few crossings of larger roads are inevitable.

Bring a lock. We'll make time for a lunch stop and there might be tea and cake at one of the properties.

Please contact ride leader Nicola advance if you'd like to come, by email (nwissbrock@googlemail.com) or text on 07702 473 544. We would like to keep the group size to a maximum of 10 as otherwise we'll overwhelm some of the smaller houses.

Meeting 8:50am for a 9am start from the Green Bridge. We'll try to get to the first property early to beat the queues, so please be punctual!

Rides information

Our rides are highlighted by "RIDE". You don't have to be a member to join in and we're also always looking for new ride ideas. Contact our Rides Co-ordinator for further information.

There is no need to register beforehand for a ride unless this is specifically stated, most rides are "turn up and go".

If you haven't ridden with us before please read our Ride Guidance Notes.

Please note that for train assisted rides we often cannot publish times until about 2 weeks beforehand because of the need to check engineering works. Also sometimes our ride leaders do have to change dates/times/routes at reasonably short notice. Generally this website will be up to date and also details will be sent out to our email groups, but if in doubt contact the ride leader or our rides co-ordinator to check arrangements.
