The Hell of The East Bike Ride
The first classic of the cycling racing calendar is the Paris - Roubaix. What makes this race different is that there are at least 15 sections of cobblestone roads of which some are brutal, that is why it has been given the name "The Hell of The North".
Tower Hamlets has more cobblestone roads than any other London borough . Join us for an easy paced, fun, bone shaking, teeth rattling 10 mile ride as we attempt to join up at least 85% of the cobblestone sections of Tower Hamlets in tribute to the "Hell of the North" race taking place at the same time in France. Any bike will do. The ride is on open roads.
Date: Sunday 12 April
Time: 10am
Start: Outside Costa Coffee, Under the Green Bridge, Mile End Road
An exciting extra. At the end of the ride we will go to Limehouse Town Hall to watch the race live via a streaming service from 1pm. You can bring your own lunch but there are plenty of places near the town hall to grab a takeaway or food and drink from the convenience stores. Tea, coffee, biscuits, (possibly cake) and water will be available complementary.
Bike will be secured inside the town hall.
The race ends at 6pm but you can leave at any time, most of the cobblestone sections of the race will be between 1-3pm. This is free and ticket only event, if the event is sold out then text me.

Rides information
Our rides are highlighted by "RIDE". You don't have to be a member to join in and we're also always looking for new ride ideas. Contact our Rides Co-ordinator for further information.
There is no need to register beforehand for a ride unless this is specifically stated, most rides are "turn up and go".
If you haven't ridden with us before please read our Ride Guidance Notes.
Please note that for train assisted rides we often cannot publish times until about 2 weeks beforehand because of the need to check engineering works. Also sometimes our ride leaders do have to change dates/times/routes at reasonably short notice. Generally this website will be up to date and also details will be sent out to our email groups, but if in doubt contact the ride leader or our rides co-ordinator to check arrangements.
